Whoever says moving is hard work obviously isn't doing it right.

The modeling agency bought her plane tickets, security let her cut in line before everyone else, airline employees carried all her bags to her plane, and she was upgraded to first class. After landing in Maine, a cabby hailed itself and offered her a free ride to Siren Cove. Yura didn't have to lift a damn finger the entire time. Just the way she likes it.

A trip to the local coffee shop and an impromptu meet-and-greet with a rich-looking man later, Yura now has an upscale condo for a fraction of the cost. Easy peasy. The man--she thinks his name is Bradley, who knows, who cares--grabbed a few construction workers and together they carried all of her bags up to her new top-floor condo. It will need some tweaking, but she's pleased she's found a place to stay so soon after arriving.

Deciding that she's a tad hungry, Yura grabs a purse (no money, she doesn't need any) and heads out into town. Where, oh where should she grace with her presence?



ooc: I was going to wait to introduce Yura but I want her at the ball on Monday lol. Riley & Val don't know she's in town yet~

"Miss Park, hm?" he asks, waving off the waitress. He doesn't bother to get up, or offer his hand, or anything he'd be required to do at a formal dinner. He just maintains eye contact, a slight smirk dancing across his lips. "Is there a given name to go with that?"

"Yura," she says cooly, sitting in the chair across from him and crossing her long legs. A few men passing by stop and gawk at her. Yura gives them a sweet smile and a wave--she might need something from them later. "Shall I just call you Mr. Chang?" she asks as she turns her gaze back to the handsome man.

He watches her charm the men walking by, snorting as one walks straight into a pole. He knew he was right to call her over.

"Lee," he replies, drumming his fingers against the table. "So, Yura. I noticed the way you interacted with the crowd as you walked through... You're accustomed to getting your way, yes?"

"Very," she answers with a purr, still smiling to herself as the man who hit the pole gathers himself together before rushing off. "And a man usually approaches me himself. He doesn't send a waitress to do his work. I'm guessing you like for others to do that for you?"

[thewitchking]

"Sorry, darling. No one is worth the effort to fetch them myself when I can charm someone else into getting them," he chuckles. "Somehow, I think we have that in common."

She smiles at that. "I think we definitely have that in common. Well, Lee, have you been in this..." she searches for the right word, "quaint little town for long?"

"Grew up here, unfortunately. The family has a history here. Your accent is quite good, but I'm guessing you're newly immigrated, yourself?"

"How unfortunate for you. History is nice to have though. If it comes with power? Thank you. Just flew in from South Korea. My dear cousins live here." She has a wicked grin at the thought of her cousins. Their faces will be priceless.

"It comes with plenty of power, I assure you," he smirks. "Even if we weren't rich as sin, charm and a pretty face gets you a long way."

"Your cousins, hm? The Jung girls, I guess? Goody two shoes who live in a dump of a cottage and dress like absolute slobs? It's hard to believe you're related."

She's interested now. "Good looking and powerful? How do you keep the commoners off you?"

"I know," she sighs dramatically, rolling her eyes. "I'm embarrassed you already know of them from their shabby home and clothes. But I have news to bring them and I'm looking forward to seeing their faces."

"Magic," he chuckles, gauging her reaction. Most people would just take it as a joke. If she had the power her cousins had, she'd know it wasn't.

"They're loud. It's hard not to hear about them. Thankfully, I don't think I've ever had to interact with them. My apologies for your misfortune of sharing blood with them."

Yura leans forward, resting her hands on the table. "Well, wouldn't you know. Exactly why I'm here."

"Your apologies are appreciated. For some ungodly reason, the world seems to love them."

[thewitchking]

"Really now?" Lee quirks an eyebrow, sipping at his drink. "You're more and more interesting the more we talk."

"The world is full of simpletons and they flock to other simpletons. Those of us with taste and brains get reviled."

"I could've told you that first thing, sugar." She leans back in her chair.

"Witch families are unique in how they work. Long story short, the Park witches pass their power to the eldest daughter only. My mother was second in line, but Riley and Val both managed to gain powers." She rolls her eyes and scoffs. "Typical." She's back to smiling sweetly. "But our dear old grandmother's passed away and left all her powers to me. I can't wait to tell them."

"Love to be the bearer of bad news, hm?" He grins back wolfishly. "If life doesn't hand you what you deserve, take it by force. I like it."

[inthenightsky]

"I do. Especially when it involves the goody-two-shoe Jungs. But I'll get bored of them soon. I need to find other...hobbies in Siren Cove." She looks at him, raising an eyebrow. "Any suggestions?"

[thewitchking]

"Any objections to sunning around pools? Clubbing? Manipulating your way into free meals?"

[inthenightsky]

"Will you also be sunning around pools? If so, definitely no objections."

[thewitchking]

"Well, of course. I have my own private pool. This golden glow is only partially natural. And of course, you're invited, if you'd like to join me."

'Perfect. I'd love to join you. Get away from this 'atmosphere' or whatever they like to call it."

He holds his hand out, "Give me your phone. I'll give you my number. Next time I'm out, I'll give you a text."

Yura pulls the phone out of her purse and hands it over to him, fixing her lipstick as he punches it in.

He taps it in and slides the phone back across the table. "So, join me for dinner? The restaurant is treating."

"Oh?" She makes a pleased noise. "Food always tastes better on the house. I'd love to."

[thewitchking]

"What's your poison?" he asks, signalling the waitress to come back. He raises an eyebrow at her flushed face. "Give the lady whatever she wants."

"I'll have the lobster, thanks." She doesn't make eye contact with the waitress, just holds her menu in the air, expecting it to immediately disappear. Thankfully it does.

She waits for the waitress to leave. "You family is old, powerful, and you know about magic. Are you a witch as well, Lee?"

[thewitchking]

He holds up a hand, producing an orb of light. "A powerful one, if I do say so myself. I specialize in manipulation and curses. Shapeshifting as well. Yourself?"

[inthenightsky]

"Sexy," she smiles approvingly. "I absorbed my grandmother's powers over a month ago. Still stretching and discovering exactly what the old bat could do." Thunder rumbles in the distance. "Weather is definitely one of the stronger abilities."

[thewitchking]

"Hmm... Anyone teaching you?" he asks, stroking his chin thoughtfully. "I'm no weather mage, but the basics tend to be the same no matter what."

"No, but I wouldn't say no to a teacher such as yourself," she winks.

[thewitchking]

Lee chuckles, glad to finally have found some kinship in this godforsaken town. "Then we'll have to do poolside lessons, hm?"

"The only place I'll accept as a classroom, to be honest."

[thewitchking]

"I like the way you think," he smirks, waving off the waitress as she puts their plates in front of them. "We're going to get along just fine."

She smiles back at him, already knowing they're going to have some fun together. "I think you're right. I already feel a little less alone in this dump."
